With tokenisation there is no need for you to store or secure cardholder data any more. ChipDNA in conjunction with our Payment Gateway generates a unique token for each transaction. This allows you to process repeat payments without having to store cardholder data thus reducing the scope of the relevant PCI standards. We introduced this concept into our products in 2004 giving us a wealth of experience with payment security.

How does tokenisation work?

Every payment transaction we process results in a secure "token" which is an alias for the original cardholder data which we securely encrypt and store. This token can be used for subsequent transactions without the cardholder data being re-entered by a customer. When our Payment Gateway sees a token it simply looks up the original card data used in the transaction and reuses it transparently. Card holder data is stored and managed within the security boundaries of our PCI DSS Level 1 certification.
